With 90,000sqft on two floors the large, deep floorplates presented a challenge, however our response was to create a new "social heart" to the building concentrating meeting, movement and interaction zones and reinforcing this with new circular skylights and connecting spiral staircases. This meant that people sitting close to the centre were as happy as if they were near a window, but also gave a very rational spaceplan. A new entrance and reception were also key to making the building work......
